What is Mastering?

Mastering is the process of tonally balancing and artistically enhancing your final recordings through the application of compression and equalization. It can take your compositions to the next level by adding punch, clarity, and volume while preserving the dynamic contour of each track when performed properly. When mastering an entire album, it is important that the overall color (equalization) and sensation (volume) are consistent from track to track. When necessary, excess silence is eliminated and fades are adjusted so that the transition between songs is natural and appealing.
Why is it necessary?

If you want your mixes to compete with what's presently available on the market, you'll likely need to have them mastered. Through the use of high-end Mastering instruments and software, as well as our years of experience, we can guarantee that your mixes will be enhanced to their maximum potential.
Is it expensive?

There are currently a large number of online companies that offer mastering services, and their prices differ greatly, making the decision somewhat difficult. Will your project suffer if you attempt to save money? At JamMar Music, we believe that we provide exceptional quality and value for many of our clients. It is, of course, the hearing and experience of the mastering engineer you choose to work on your project.
What’s the process?

If you are not in close proximity to one of our facilities, you can either mail the mixes or, for quicker service, transmit them via the Internet. A 50% down payment is required to commence construction. Sections of each mastered mix will be provided for review, and the remainder and final payment will be due upon final approval. The final masters can be transmitted digitally or by mail for a nominal fee. Payment options include Bank wire, Bank ACH, Debit Card, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express.
Additional Service:

Once you’ve placed your deposit down for mastering, we offer a unique service in which we’ll review your mixes (prior to mastering) and offer suggestions on possible mix improvement. If you are in a position where you can still make adjustments, this can be invaluable. Many of our clients take advantage of this service as it can be very beneficial to get a "fresh set of ears" on a project.
Full Production:

This involves the arranging, tracking, and editing of all instruments and vocals. The final steps are mixing and mastering.
Additional Production:

If you’ve already recorded most or part of your song, but need those finishing touches to make it really stand out, then this is your solution.
